COMPULSORY WHEAT POOL
REGULATIONiS OPPOSED. ASSOCIATED CHAMBERS. (By Tetegrapb—Presa Association.) WELLINGTON, Jan. 27. A motion* of protest in' connection with the wheat pool regulations was carried after discussion at a meeting of the executive of the Associated Chambers of Commerce to-day.
The resolution was: “That this association strongly protests against the compulsory provisions in the wheat regulations issued by Order-in-i Council under the Board of Trade Act which deprive private enterprise of its Tights and freedom in commercial operations, against the manner in which the wheat pool was introduced by Order-in-Couri-cil instead of by the decision of Parliament, whose business it is to deal with such matters, and against the further .employment of the Board of Trade Act, which has been used to create a monopoly, -despite the fact that the Act is designed to suppress monopolies. Further, this association again urges that the Board of Trade Act be stripped of its autocratic powers,”
