SUNDAY SCHOOL PICNIC
HAWERA METHODIST CHURCH. GALA DAY AT TE NGUTU. In ideal weather Te Ngutu reserve was the scene ol' the annual picnic of the Hawera Methodist Church yesterday and the occasion proved replete with enjoyment to a gathering; of approximately 150 children in addition to parents and other friends. The work of organising was in the hands of the superintendent, Mr. T. J. Harrell, and his staff of teachers and all worked energetically to ensure success. A bounteous supply of food and fruit was provided by the committee whose work was under the direction of Hns J. Mill^. Games and sports were organised by Mr. E. J. Year bury and many (lose contests were seen, while tennis and cricket were enjoyed on the courts and in the paddock at the reserve. The Rev. E. S. Emmitt was present and helped in many ways with the proceedings. Mr. J. King, the custodian, gave every assistance possible to the committee.
