MISHAP ON GLACIER
GUIDE’S LFJG FRACTURED. GIRL GOES FOR HELP. (By Telegrapn—Press Association). HOKITIKA, Jan. 23. When near the main divide at -the head of The Franz Josef Glacier on Tuesday, Mark Lysons, an experienced guide, was crossing a crevasse and fell and broke his leg. Miss Ida Corrv, a noted member of the English Alpine Club, who had .accompanied the guide, assisted the injured man for several miles. - •
Guide Fluet.v who had come up to Sylmer Hut to relieve Lysons, not finding the party at the hut, went in search and met Miss Corry on her wav for assistance. The two went back and conveyed the injured man to Aylmer Hut (several miles un , the glacier) where Fluety went to Waiho for medical assistance, a visiting doctor being available.
