APPRENTICE JOCKEY KILLED
TRAINING TRACK TRAGEDY HORSE FALLS AT TAKANINI (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, Jan. 2G. An apprentice jockey. Gerald Edwards, aged 18 years, attached to the stables of P. Id. Pone, of Takanini, was killed this morning. He was riding Sub-station in company with Speedmint when hi's mount stumbled, and the rider was thrown to the ground, the lior.se falling on him. The rider’s skull was fractured and he was killed instantaneously.
