Miss Lily Bcaurepaire, a former Australian swimming champion, was the central figure in a thrilling rescue of four men who had been swept by the undertow, into a heavy ■ surf at Lome. She fan a quarter of a mile on hearing the alarm and then swam 200 yards and brought the men ashore ori a surf board.
