BILLS READ FIRST TIME. FOUR MEASURES FROM HOUSE, (By Telegraph—Press Association). WELLINGTON, Nov. 16. The Wellington City Empowering Amendment Bill, the Ohai Railway Board Bill and the Carterton and District Memorial Square Bill .were received from flic House of Representatives and read a first time in the Legislative Council to-day. The Local Authorities Sinking Funds Bill was also received from the House, read a first time and a second time pro forma and referred to the Statutes Revision Committee. The Council rose at 2.40 p.m.
