HUNTER ESTATE DISPUTE

PROVISION FOR WIDOW. VARIATION DECLINED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Nov. 16. Seven counsel were present in the •Supreme Court for the hearing of an application by Lady Hunter for the variation of an order made by the court on her behalf in June by making further and better provision for her out of the estate of her late husband, on the ground that her financial circumstances had become further embarrassed. Mr Justice Blair said he could not entertain the application and dismissed it, allowing costs out of the estate for all parties other than the applicant.

Counsel, Mr Perry, suggested that vf fresh proceedings were taken on behalf of Betty, Lady Hunter’s daughter, it might ho possible for Lady Hunter to invoke sub-section 1. section 33, of the Family Protection Act, and that might be a solution of the present difficulty.
