WOMAN’S BODY ON BEACH
CORONER’S OPEN; VERDICT. POLICE WORK COMMENDED. (By Telegrapn—cross .association.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 6. The inquest was. concluded to-day into the death of Miss Clare Kathleen Moore, aged about 50, of Dunedin, whose Ibody was found on the beach at Karaka Bay on July 28. The coroner said there was no doubt that Miss Moore was worried when she returned to Wellington from Auckland. There was no evidence to show how she came to be itx the water and he would have to return an open verdict. The coroner complimented the police on their work in establishing the identity of the body. They had had a very difficult task and he expressed appreciation of the way identity had been established. Miss Moore belonged to Dunedin and had been spending a holiday at Auckland. She was on the way back to Dunedin at the time of her death.
