PLAYERS BEAT GENTLEMENSOMERSET DEFEATS SUSSEX. (United Press Association—flv Electric Telegraph Copyright.) LONDON, Sept. 2. In the Players v. Gentlemen match Players, who made 194 in the first innings, in the second made 3(0 (Worthington 129; Allom four for 74). Gentlemen, who made 277 m the first innings, in the second made 240 (Hone 56; Freeman six for 126). Players won by 47 runs. . . M.C.C. lost three wickets for 66 m the match against Yorkshire, which was drawn after rain had delayed play. The outstanding county championship result was the defeat of Sussex by Somerset on the first innings. Somerset in the first innings made 303 (Ingle 107, Willard S 3) and m the second 160 (Tate five for 42). Sussex in the first innings made 256 (J. Parks 83. H. Parkes 83) and in the second lost nine for 204. RAIN PREVENTS PLAY. ENGLAND v. INDIA. LONDON, Sept. 3. Rain prevented play in the England v.
