SUICIDE AT PATEA
ELDERLY STRANGER’S ACT. BODY FOUND IN RESERVE. Shortly before 7 o’clock this morning the body of an elderly man, identified as Robert Taylor, a stranger to the district, was found hanging from a tree in the reserve opposite the Patea Domain. Life had apparently been extinct for several hours. The man was well dressed in a dark suit and appeared to be about 60 years of age. He had been observed about Patea since early on Sunday and js believed to have been passing through in search of work. An inquest was to have been held to-day.
