TOURNEY AT DUNEDIN. EASTERN A WINS K CUP. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, Sept. 3. The Dominion ladies’ hockey tournament for the K Cup was won by 'Eastern A, who defeated Otago A by 2 goals to nil in a game in which the Eastern forwards had things nearly all their own way. The Otago forwards played a poor game and were unable to cope with the solid defence of the Eastern full-backs. Eastern’s first goal came from a forward move-, meat, Iv. Bond sending in an excellent shot, and H. Reid scored the second after a spectacular solo effort. Eastern A will hold the K Cup for a year and Otago will take the Floyd Shield. In a Holden Cup game Canterbury drew with Marlborough 2 all after a good display of hockey by both sides. The positions of the teams at the close of the section play was:— Section A: Marlborough 8 points, Otago A 8, Central Otago 0, Wellington 5, Eastern B 3, .Southland A 1. Section B: Eastern A 12, Canterbury 10, Otago B 7, Southland B 4, West Coast A 4, West Coast B 3, South Canterbury 2.
