AMERICA BEATS BRITAIN. WALKER CUP CONTEST. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) NEW YORK, Sept. 2. At Brookline the United States team retained the Walker Cup to-day by beating the English challengers. The final score for the 12 matches iwas United States 94 points, Britain 24. The United States won eight matches, Britain one, and three matches were halved. Leonard Crawley, a British schoolmaster, won the only British victory, beating George Voiglit one up on the thirty-sixth •green. ELTHAM DEFEATS STRATFORD At the week-end a team of men from the Eltham Golf Club defeated Stratford by 11 games to 7.
