W.D.F.U. EUCHRE AND DANCE. (From Our Own Correspondent.) A euchre and dance conducted by the Ohangai branch of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union in the Ohangai Hall last evening proved a complete success, and despite the inclement weather there was a record attendance, with visitors from Manu■talii, Whakamara, Mokoia and Hawera. Ten games of euchre were played, Mrs Radford winning the ladies’ section with eight games, Mrs_ Frahm being second with seven after a playoff with Mesdaimes Patchell and Butler and Misses E. Patchell and B. Radford. Mr Hinga won the men’s .section with nine games, Mr L. Patchell being second with A ncveltv dance was Avon by Mrs Dixon and Mr Garrett, a Monte Carlo waltz by Mr and Mrs Barclay (Manutahi), a waltzing competition by Mrs W. C. Barclay and Mr T. Kerrisk, and a reversing competition by Mrs Bloor and Mr Davidson. The supper arrangements Avere in the hands of Mesdames Kerrisk. Patchell, Dyson and Tidswell and Misses O’Shea and E. Harding. Mr R. Wills supplied the music. The M’s.C. Avere ' Mesdames BoAA T den and Barclay.
An invitation was extended to the ladies to a dehate to he held at Whakamara on Friday next.
