DEATH OF HAWERA FLORIST
FOUND IN GAS-FILLED ROOM. Apparently having been dead for several hours, the body of Samuel Wall, a middle-aged florist and seedsman, was found in the rqar of a Regent Street shop, Hawera, about 7.30 this morning. The room was filled with gas and deceased’s head was immediately above a gas ring. As far as can be ascertained Wall was a single man, with no relatives in the Dominion.
For several yeans Wall was in business in Regent Street, Hawera, trading as Staub and Co., seedsmen and florists, and latterly was also interested m a grocery business at Greytown. He recently filed a petition m bankruptcy, with' liabilities totalling £2,500, and is understood to have been worrying over liis financial position.
