SALARY CUTS DEFERRED
CHRISTCHURCH HOSPITAL. REVIEW IN THREE MONTHS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, July 27. The North Canterbury Hospital Board decided to-day not to* reduce salaries and wages, but agreed that the position should be. reviewed in three months. ACCLIMATISATION SOCIETY FINANCE! COMMITTEE RESIGNS CHRISTCHURCH, July 27. The North Canterbury AiOdlimatisation Society to-night met to discuss the report of iitia finance committee. In effect this report stated that. at the present rate of expenditure the society was facing a; deficit of £3OO and recommended that the salaries of the secretary and the two rangers shoulld be reduced by 15 per cent. 1 A motion to adopt the report was | rejected and an amendment to defer| .wage reductions' for six months was' carried. Immediately on the announce-: merit of till© result of the vote the members of the finance committee ten-! larod their resignations. Notice was given of a motion to rescind the decision of the meeting.
