At the annual meeting of the Rahotu Dairy Company yesterday Mr W. C. Green was re-elecited chairman for the ensuing year.
The Rev. Brother Benignus, Auckland, has been appointed l Provincial of the Marist Brothers in, New Zealand in succession to the Rev. Brother Justin, whose term expired this year, the Press Association reports. Mr D. H. S'. Buddie, New Plymouth manager of the National Insurance Company, has received notice of transfer to the Christchurch office of the company. Mr and Mrs Buddie will leave early in the coming month for the south. Mr J. D. Robb, of the Auckland branch, has arrived at New Plymouth to take over the local managership. The death occurred at Dunedin on Tuesday at the age of 58 years of Mr Alexander Murdoch, who was well known in commercial and sporting circles. Mr Murdoch was the founder and principal of the firm of Murdoch and Co., manufacturing chemists, which he built up from small beginnings to an extensive business. For many years he was closely associated with racing, among the horses which he owned being Kilboyne, winner of the Canterbury Jockey Club's Stewards’ Handicap and other good races. All British. Red Kriss, Bonena and Felony. He is survived by his wife, three sons and one daughter.
The death occurred at the Auckland Hospital on Tuesday of Mrs Julia Letitia Clinkard, wife of Mr C. H. Clinkard, M.P., of Rotorua. She was aged 70 years. Mrs Clinkard was born in England and was the youngest daughter of the late Mr Hooper, Warkworth. She came to New Zealand with her parents 68 years ago and lived in the north of Auckland for many years, and more recently in the Rotorua district. In addition to her husband, Mrs Clinkard leaves five sons, , Messrs C. H. Clinkard, barrister. Wanganui; G. W. Clinkard, general manager for the Tourist and Health Department at Wellington; C. T. Clinkard, Tauranga; A. E. Clinkard and S. E. Clinkard, Auckland.
