INCOME TAX GRADUATION
LEVY ON 2,000,000 MORE. BRITISH SCALE REVISED. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Juno I. It is provisionally estimated by the Treasury that the recent alterations in the graduation of the income tax renders 2,000,000 more persons chargeable to the tax in the present financial year. ’The Financial Secretary of the Treasury (Major \V. E. Elliott), who (made this statement in the House of Commons, said that according to these provisional estimates the number how actually paying the tax was between 4,000,000 and 4,250,000 persons.
