PERSONAL. (Prom Our Own Correspondent.) Miss Alice Deegan is visiting New Plymouth and is the guest of Mrs Aubrey Walker. Miss Deegan, who was presented at the Charity Ball in New Plymouth, wore a model frock of turquoise blue georgette, with blue satin shoes, stockings and posy to tone, and a poach coloured chiffon coatee and necklace of pearls. | Miss Maureen Burke, who has been an inmate of Kaponga Hospital for the past three weeks, is now convalescing at the residence of her aunt, Mrs R. S.'i Scown, Nolan Road, Haw r era. j Miss Harkness has taken up duties at the Auroa School in the position recently held by Miss Allan, who has been appointed to Pihama. Miss Harkness is staying with Mrs W. F. Lyndon. Miss Netta Duff has returned to the Mrs T. J. Ross has been visiting Wanganui. The sympathy of the district will he extended to Messrs H. and J. Hartley, of Auroa, in their recent bereavement through the death of their brother, the late Mr R. Hartley, Okaiawa. Mrs A. W. King is spending a holiday in New Plymouth. Mr Leslie King has returned to tho Manaia High School. With regular practice the Auroa men’s hockey team and the ladies’ club continue to show improvement and are very keen in their sport. Mr A. Riley Has been engaged to take an important part in the play to ho staged at Kaponga. The Auroa school boys are busy practising with their drum and fife hand for the Manaia jubilee celebrations, which this district is keenly interested) in. Mr and Mrs P. Duggan arc now settled on the Waihi Road, Hawera.
