COMMISSION OF INQUIRY. EXTENDING TIME. (Bv Telegraph—Press Association.l ' WELLINGTON, May 25. Tho Prime Minister (the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes) in reply to a question to-day stated the National Expenditure Commission would be unable to submit its main report by the specified time (June 1) and a further cxtention would be granted of about a month. The interim report published m March contained recommendations for cuts in the cost of administration of many branches and 'phases of the Public Service organisation, but only one or two Government departments were dealt with. The main report will deal extensively with Government offices.
