ELTHAM COMPETITIONS DRAW FOR QUIN CUP Matches for the Quin Cup are to be played next week-end as a 86-hole bogey match under the auspices of the Elthani Golf Oluib. Players are requested to play as drawn and start at the times specified. Late players will not be allowed to commence mitil after a,li others have gone. The match for the Coronation Medal and the Aotea-roa Cup, which was to have been played by the ffanaia Ladies’ Golf Club yesterday, was postponed owing to the unfavourable weather. If the weather is suitable, it will be played to-morrow. ENGLISH AMATEUR TOURNEY. PLAYER WHO BEAT CHAMPION. LONDON, May 24. Although the New York player Leonard Martin was defeated in the second round of the amateur golf championship another American, David Martin, aged 23, from California, who is not related to Leonard, provided yesterday’s surprise by defeating L. G. Crawley, holder of the English championship.
