WOMEN’S TENNIS CUP
DOMINION CHAMPIONSHIP. GIFT OF LADY BLEDISLOE. (Bv Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, May 24. It was announced at a general meeting of the New Zealand Lawns Tennis Association to-night that Lady Bledi’soe had presented a silver cup for the !STew Zealand ladies’ championship singles. iMr M. E. Denniston (eliairman of the management committee) said the cup would take the place of the present trophy, now held together partly w T ith lead solder. The new cup would bear the name of all previous winners. The meeting adopted the committee’s annual report, at the same time approving the postponement, of the junior hard court championships. The Wellington association, the report said, had been approached regarding the New Sealand championships tournament but ;he question of dates had not yet been :onsidered.
