ARREST AFTER 14 VEARS MAN CAPTURED IN NEW YORK. STARTLING BOOK SUGGESTION. “MAN WHO KILLED KITCHENER.” Jlmt.fW Association —By Electric Telegraph Oopyrighl.l Received 11.30 a.m. to-day. NEW YORK, May 24. The police criminal alien squad has arrested a man described as_ Frederick Joctbert Duquesnc, aged 52, widely known as an anti-British adventurer. He is charged with being a fugitive from justice in 1918 while awaiting extradition to England on a charge of bombing the Lamport and Holt liner, Tennyson, in Brazilian waters in 1916 and killing three British seamen. Duquesne came to New York in 1917 impersonating an officer of the Australian Light Horse] A strange feature coinciding with the arrest is the publication of a book in New York, “The Man wlio killed Kitchener.” The author of the book purpoxts to show that Duquesne was responsible for the sinking of the Hampshire. The British Consulate has communicated with officials in London regarding action to be taken, if any.
