LOCAL AND PERSONAL
A mushroom exceedingly large for this time of the year has been sent to the offices of the “Hawera Star” by Mr A. Martin, of Ohawe. It measures 7-J inches across the broadest part and weighs 7oz.
To mark the importance of the occasion and with the view of attracting a good attendance of the public, the Ha- j wera unemployed Rugby team, which meets the City team in the Wednesday competition at the showgrounds in Hawera to-morrow, has made special arrangements. A procession will form up at the band room in Albion Street at 1.45 o’clock and the Hawera Municipal Band will play the teams to the ground. There will be a charge for admission, the match being timed to commence at 2.30 o’clock.
