MANAIA
FUNERAL OF MR W
MURRAY
(From Our Own Correspondent.)
One of the largest gatherings seen in Manaia at a funeral was that at the interment of the late Mr William Murray, which took place yesterday. There; were friends from all ever Taranaki present at the graveside. The gathering included representatives of the Hawera Scottish Society, Whose committee sent a wreath as a mark of sympathy. Many other wreaths were sent by relatives and other friends.
The first part of the service was read by the Rev. R. Mailer at the house of Mr T. A. Bridge, when the funeral went to the cemetery. The bearers were Messrs J. E. Campbell, D. G. Smart, J. S. McKay, F. Mourie, H. G. Dickie and A. N. Brown.
After the completion of the service a lament “Garland of Flowers” was played by Piper B. Henson, to mark Mr Murray’s association with the Scottish Society.
