ASSEMBLY AT WAVERLEY. Decorated in amber and black streamers and with a wealth or grQenerv," the Toivn Hall at Waverley looked its gayest on Friday for the military ball in connection Avith. the camp ot the Queen Alexandra, Mounted Rifles Regiment held last Aveek. At the entrance to the supper room _ the regiment’s badge Avas carried out in amber and black crepe paper and green ferns. The stage Ava.s beautifully decorated Avith punga fern, red berries and greenery. Tables in the supper room looked very charming Avith great iboAvls of tawny and gold chrysanthemums. Music was provided by the River City Syneopators and a number of extras were also played. Visitors AA-ere present from all parts of the coast from Wanganui to Stratford. Cade (Wel-lington-West Coast Regiment), Majors Gibbs and Smart (Q.A.M.R.), Majors Oonway, Plotter (New* Zeaiaiid Staiir Corps); Captains Goss, Hastie, arid. Maxwell (N.E.S.^.), ~,-Oapta'in.. Graves! (Q.A.M.R.), Major McCTorie and Captain Edmondson (Wellington-West Coast Regiment), Lieutenants Congreve and Burfdrd (Wellington and West Coast Regiment), Lieutenants Stevens, Hartwell, L. Honeyfield, Armstrong, Pleasants and Henry.
