PRICE OF GOLD EASING. LONDON, May 21. The price of gold to-day is £5 12s lOd an ounce, compared with £5 13s 2d on Wednesday and £5 13s 7d last Saturday. FROZEN MEAT PRICES. SMITHFIELD REVIEW. The weekly quotations for the under mentioned classes of frozen meat are based on actual sales of wholesale quantities of carcases of mutton or lamb, or of quarters of beef delivered to Smithfield market and/or ex London stores._ They are compiled by the quotations’ committee, Smithefild. To arrive at the equivalent ex ship values add one farthing per lb to the value quoted below\ Quotations given represent the average for the week, and are not for selected lines but for parcels fairly representative of the bulk of shipments now on offer.
