Received 11.20 a.m. to-day. CALCUTTA, May 22. The Madras police have unearthed a Communist plot for an Indian revolt on a largo scale. The police, aided by detectives from other cities, have arrested prominent leaders. Madras was the headquarters of an organist tion which was planned to exploit the threat of a- general railway strike for the establishment of a Soviet Republic. Funds were received from branch organisations, in the provinces. The movement, wa® linked with, the Reds in Germany whither several of the arrested men were preparing to journey.
