OBITUARY
MR WILLIAM MURRAY, OPUNAKE
After an illnes's of only four day's Mr William Murray, of Opunake, died at New Plymouth on Saturday morning. Although he had been in hospital at New for iseveral weeks twelve' months ago he had quite, recovered and seemed to 'be in his normal health until Monday last, when he was taken ill on the; way to the sale yards. He lay for four days in a serious and sinking condition. Born at Eidht, Aberdeen, sixty-five years ago, he came to New Zealand about 1.890 and was for a time in change of the coach from Opunake to Hawera.. Rater lie took up land on the Taikatu Road and subsequently moved to Waverley and then to Manaia, retiring some year's ago to live at Opunake. He'was held in high regard by friends all over the district and, being a ( keen supporter of the Hawera Scottish society, regularly attended its social evenings, where he was very popular. Ho is survived by his widow and two daughters. Misses Elizabeth and Ella and one son, Mr Kenneth .7. Murray. Mrs Murray was a Miss Walker, of Waverley, and is a sister of Mrs T. A. Bridge, of Manaia. Mrs Geo. Taylor, of Argyle Street, is a sister.
