The remarkable growth of tin hare rtc-’ug in England was referred to in a speech by Lord Askwith, President of the English National Greyhound Racing Society, :ceently. He stated that although the actual figures were not availahl it- was probable that the total number of people who had attended greyhound racing meetings in 1931 would exceed 17,000,000, and on May 1 of this year his society would have to consider at least 20 applications for licenses from tracks which have come into existence all over the country. Many of the racing tracks have also installed an up-to-date total-, isator in their grounds. Ireland has also a large number of racing tracks throughout the country.
