“EAST LYNNE.”
The bos plans for “East Lynne”, which commences at the Opera House, Hawera, on Saturday afternoon next for a season of three nights and one matinee, opens at Miss Blake’s Sweet Shop to-morrow (Wednesday) morning at 9 a.m. “East Lynne” features an allstar cast headed by Ann Harding, Clive Brook, Conrad Nagel, Cecilia Loftus, Beryl Mercer, O. P. Heggie and David Torrence.
GRAND THEATRE.
“SCANDAL SHEET” TO-NIGHT.
“Scandal Sheet,” starring Clive Brook, fresh from his successful appearance in Paramount’s Ruth Chatterton. Talkie “The Better Wife,” commences a two-night’s season at the Grand Theatre, Hawera, to-night. _ This is the latest George Bancroft picture and, Brook's clever characterisation of a wealthy banker has already gained him new honours. Kay Francis is the woman in the ease and the presentation has the name of being one of the year’s sensations. Reserves are at Miss Blake’s.
