Copyright.; Received 10.30 a.m. to-day. SYDNEY, Aug. 24. Scenes of solemnity marked the closing rally of the. Christian Endeavour Convention, when Rev. Lionel Fletcher, who delivered the address, consecrated a, large number of young men and women to the work of the movement.

Rev. Mr Fletcher described the convention as the greatest held in Australia from the viewpoint of numbers and spirituality. He said that while he dicl not wish to appear as a “killjoy,” lie expressed the hope that young people would not. allow the vanites of iite to spoil the harmony* of spiritual life.

Rev. Varooo Cooks, the retiring national president, presented to Rev. Mr Fletcher a bound volume of the convention proceedings. Mr Fletcher inducted as new officers the Rev. S. E. Dorman, as national president, and the Rev. Cooks as. deputy. A demonstration by juniors in the city* town hall was preceded by a procession through the city streets. There was a notable gathering, marked l>y stirring addresses and tableaux.
