It is officially stated that the conversations at the. Chequers were confined to a friendly/' talk on Germany's economic position and the necessity for alleviating, difficulties. Messrs. MacDonald and! Henderson emphasised the world wide nature of the depression both parties agreed that a revival of prosperity depended on International co-operation beside national efforts and both Governments will endeavour to deal with the’ crisis in close collaboration with other Governments concerned. . .. A comprehensive account of the Chequers discussions will be despatched to the Dominions and to interested foreign powers. Tlie only concrete, tesult from the conversations would lie, it was stated, another 1 oung Plan conference. This is likely to be the next- step.
