BLAZE AT GISBORNE
« —— THEATRE BUILDING ON EIRE. GOOD WORK BY BRIGADE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) GISBORNE, April 7. A fire this morning in the Majestic Theatre building gutted Ferguson’s confectionery shop and extensively damaged the Grand Tea Rooms above, whilst the theatre vestibule and Bickford’s stationery shop suffered damage by water. The flames had a strong hold when discovered, but the brigade effected a good save in the main portion of the theatre building. Ferguson’s stock was insured for £ISOO.
