SCHOOL PICNIC. (From Our Own Correspondent.) The annual picnic of the Matapu School took place- hi the Te Ngutu Park oil Friday. The weather being ideal, the -large nuaniber of adults and children present spent a very pleasant day. Lunch and afternoon tea was provided by. the ladies. During the afternoon the children enjoyed races organised Iby the- teachers and committee, ivlip did fill in their power to make the occasion pleasurable. GAR,THOUAiK E REiLIEF
At a meeting held on Monday evening the local branch of the Farmers’ Union decided to donate £5 5s toward the earthquake relief fund. A reminder is given to the ball, to he held on Friday, March 29, in aid of the- earthquake relief fund. Excellent arrangements are being made by the committee. A record crowd and a very pleasant evening is expected.
