The loss sustained by Mr L S. Barraclough, of Hawera, in the death or his son was referred to sympathetically by the president a,t the monthly meeting of the South Taranaki executive, of the Farmers’ Union to-day and a vote of condolence was recorded. Mr Barraclough has been a- prominent judge for the Boys and Girls’ Oluibs calf-rearing competitions. At the meeting of the South Taranaki executive' of the Farmers’ Union at Hmvera to-day it- was agreed that Ma- T. A. Kinmont be allowed to retire from the land charges adjustment committee set uo iby the executive. He was thanked very cordially for his assistance in organising the committee. A,t the annual meeting of the Ha- . wera Scottish. Society last night a vote of symipathy was passed with Mr \V. Murray, a, Valued member, m his illness. He is still an inmate of the New Plymouth Hospital.
