SOUTH TARANAKI EXECUTIVE. MONTHLY MEETING. There were present at the ordinary meeting of the South Taranaki executive of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union at Hawera to-day Alessrs. E. J. Betts (chair), H. Hodge, J. Cocker, L. S. Bell, T. J. Allan, H. Thrush, A. O. Johnson, E. Hurley, D. Jacks; Air. F. Barker, J. Young, W. L. F. Chambers,, AY. H. Reynolds, AY. T. Seed, M. T. Voullaire, El. Booth, A. L. Jennings, AY. E. Carter, AV. Ricketts and El. K. Cameron (secretary). It was mentioned by the secretary that it would he nice to invite the refugees from Hawke’s Bay to the annual picnic. He considered it would be a nice gesture on behalf of the executive. Arrangements could be made for their transport and entertainment. It was resolved to ask those townspeople who were keeping refugees, and who could to take them to the picnio. Tt was arranged that the picnic, be held at the Opunake Beach on March 21. The action of the executive in postponing the picnio last month was approved. It was agreed that the subsidy of .Boys and Girls’ Agricultural Club should he £2O ais before.
Air. Hodge referred to the danger of the Ball Road crossing on the Alain South Road and said that when the matter was brought up at the Paten County meeting it was reported that nothing -had been done. It was considered that- action was urgently needed.
