DEFEAT IMMINENT
FEDERAL CABINET SHAKY CRITICAL POSITION DEVELOPING NATIONALIST CENSURE MOVE. OdUcA Pr«w Association —Sy Electric Telegraph Copyright.) Received 2.30 p.m., to-day SYDNEY, March 5. A prominent member of the Australian Labour Party executive sard that, should the presence of Messrs. Beasley, Elridge and Lazzarini be necessary to save the Federal Government against the proposed censure motion the State A L P would instruct them not to remain in Sydney until the East Sydney by-election campaign was over. The Labour daily says that in the event of a vote being taken, to-morrow the Government is almost certain to be defeated. _ . . A message from Canberra* .states that an intriguing position has developed in Federal politics. Mr McGrath has refused to accept the decision of the caucus and will not resign his position as Chairman of Committees. Unless Mr. McGrath voluntarily resigns the new appointee Mr Cunningham is powerless to assert, his claim. A motion in the House to suspend Mr. McGrath would he opposed by hie friends as well as the opposition which would not lose the chance to defeat the government.
