WATCHING CRICKET MATCHES. MARVELS OF TELEVISION. Zone television, which was demonstrated. for the first time m London on December 30, makes it possible toi an audience in a theatre to watoh a cricket match being played 100 mdes away or the progress of the Lord Mayor’s banquet. Hitherto not more than one stationary figure has been flashed through space but at this demonstration, eight moving figures were seen, on a screen. . - ~ A vroup of people, m a room in tne laboratory of tlie Baird Television Company in London, saw the full-size figure of Strudwick, the England and Surrey cricketer, appeal- on a screen. Ho stood iu front of wickets and made imaginary strokes with, liis bat, wJiicii the audience in another room could see quite clearly. Then eight figures appeared on the screen. “It is intended to develop this new apparatus for use in theatres and gmemas as apart from home television, Mr.’John L.
