SAVING LIFE AT SEA
PAPUANS’ BRAVERY. RECOGNISED. (United Press. Association —By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) Received 12.30 p.m., to-day. BONBON, Feb. 22. Lloyd’s medal for saving life at sea has been awarded to two Papuans,. Lgna Sevan and Gari Pai, for heroism in rescuing Mrs. Berge, whose husband and her four children and 13 natives were drowned when the motor vessel Vaivau foundered. . . „ It is believed that this is the hrst occasion on which the medal has been awarded to natives.
