Sir Laming Worthington-Evans, Minister for War in the Baldwin Cals inef. He died in his sleep. Sir Laming Worthington-Evans was 63 years of age. llis public career was a varied and notable one, and, in 'private life he was a solicitor. Ho was admitted in 1890. and retired in 1910. From then until 1918 lie was a member of Parliament for Colchester after an unsuccessful contest in 190(5. From 1914 to 1915 he was a temporary major in the British Army, and in 1916 lie took over the control of the Foreign Office. Next he was Parliamentary Secretary to the Alinistry of Alunitions, and in 1918 he became Minister of Blockade. Tn 1919 and early in 1920 he was Alinister of Pensions, during the following year lie was without portfolio, and from 1921 fill 1922, and from 1924 until 1929 lie was Secretary for "War. For a. year, from 1923 lie was PostmasterGeneral.
