CHURCHMAN CHARGED
GUILTY OF FALSE PRETENCES. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright.) LONDON, Feb. 12. Victor Michael Thomson Ruthven, aged 77, whom the police said had been a Roman Catholic priest and.was later ordained a Presbyterian Minister in Australia, was sentenced at Edinburgh to twelve months’ goal on a charge of false pretences. During the past four and a-lialf years lie had been collecting on behalf of charity. It is stated that accused, travelled the world lecturing and built up large private means.
