SOLICITOR BEFORE COURT
CHARGE! OF THEFT. CASE! FROM INGLEWOOD Accused of the theft of £6OO, Harold John Aloulo Thomson, solicitor, Inglewood, appeared l in custody in the New Plymouth Magistrate’s Court before Afi- R. AA~. Tate, S.M., yesterday. The charge w ; a.s that in January 21 last accused received at Inglewood from W. H-. Buckthouglit the sum of £6o3' in money on terms requiring him to account for and pay the money to the Taranaki Acclimatisation Society, and that hr- fraudently omitted, to do so, thereby committing the crime of i heft. Detective Kearney, on behalf of the police, asked for a remand until February 25. Air L. AI. Aloss, who appeared for the accused, consented to the remand and asked for bail. Tliei remand was granted and bail allowed in a personal surety of £SOO and two others of £250 each.
