[ The position of the stranded .Japanese freighter Chofuku Main off Point Coates is regarded as hopeless. > The holds and engine-room are Hooded, and waves are breaking over the vessel. The crew lias been transferred to the other stranded vessel, Shunsei Maru, which is still fast forward, but has steam up and still under control, and may possibly be towed off the reef. Three other Japanese wheat ships are concentrating at the scene, and will decide on the best course to adopt. Both stranded vessels have cargoes of wheat lifted at Adelaide, and were bound for Japan. The Shunsei Maru ran ashore, and, in hurrying to the rescue, the Chofuku Maru suffered a similar mishap.
