HAYMAKER’S DEATH
OKAIAWA FARM TRAGEDY VERDICT OF CORONER. “That Inoi Nuku met bis death as the result of a blow caused bv a stacker pole accidentally falling on him, which caused concussion of the brain and spine. No blame is attached to his work-mates.” Such was the verdict of the coroner, Mr R. S Sage at the inquest held on Monday afternoon concerning the tragedy at Okaiawa on Sunday, when Nuku with n number of others Maoris, was engiuied in .stacking hay. The inquest proceedings wore conducted bv Con '••table J. Scannel at th© house of Toro Hereteraka, at Lower Tempsky Road, Okaiawa. The companions of Nuku at the tune nf the occurrence gave evidence before the coroner and medical evidence was ■ riven by Dr. W. M. Thomson.
