“A Farmer” : This information should be sent to- the inspector, AN APPRECIATION. (To the Editor.) Sir —Having met with a very serious illness and admitted to the general hospital in Hawera —a stranger in a strange land—l wish to take the opportunity of expressing my heartfelt thanks to the doctors, matron, sisters, and nurses of the institution for then kind and. considerate attention during the five months I w:as an inmate. Havino- had experience in several hospitals (nine altogether), especially in Australia, the attention received at tn© Hawera Institution, in my opinion, equalled that of much more pretentious hospitals. The matron (Miss Hunter) has a big responsibility and administers her duties w r ith a tact that is admirable. The sisters and nurses also bein.o- most attentive to each and every patient. I would also like to express my gratitude to the many kind P e ?P e of Hawera, who visited my bed side, especially Mr and Mrs J. N. Anderson. —I am, etc., W. E. O’DONNELL, Sydney.
