MORE BEAUTIFUL ROADS
A campaign for highway beautification, to be conducted by the New England Federation of Women’s Clubs, co-operating with the New England , Council, got under way recently with the distribution of copies of the official “New England highway beautification programme, adopted by the recreational development committee of the council. The programme involves activities to be carried on by the individual women’s clubs, by the (State federations, \ and by the States themselves. Among , the activities suggested for the women’s clubs is the development of practical demonstrations of road beau- f, tification. The clubs, it is said, will , work for the appointment of State , highway landscape architects such as are now employed by Connecticut and , Massachusetts.
