FREEZING WORKS MERGER
EAST COAST COMPANIES. (By Telegraph —Press Association.) GISBORNE, Jan. 16. Following a recent fusion of freezing interests of the Gisborne Sheepfarmrs’ Frozen Meat Company and Nelsons. Ltd., a further merging of interests has been decided on .with the object of lowering the costs of lightering. The new company will take over the plants of both concerns. Harbour improvements, having allowed the smaller coastal vessels to berth regularly, the demand for lightering services has fallen .considerably.
