DUTY ON FILMS
TARIFF SUSPENDED
As a result of conferences held some months ago, the New Zealand Government lias agreed to suspend the existing tariff on cinematograph films, and. to exempt such films from duty under the British preferential and general tariffs. An Order-in-Council to this effect appears in the current issue of the Gazette, and states that the suspension of the tariff will take effect from July 1, 1930. The Order-in-Council, cuts cut the present duty of Id a foot on imported films, but the film hire tax will still stand.
