The amalgamation in a £10,000,000 corporation of the respective telegraph systems of the Canadian Pacific and Canadian National Railways is being considered by the two parties. It is understood the proposal has been put also before the Dominion Government. This is the much larger idea behind the recent Ottawa statement by Sir Basil Blackett, chairman of Imperial and Inernational Communications, Limited, “that the Canadian Pacific and Canadian National shall become partners with Imperial and International Communications in forming a Canadian overseas communication company which shall include the Canadian Marconi Company.”
