HAWERA TRACK NOTES

The plough track at the local course was again too heavy for use this morning and any fast work attempted was executed on the trial grass, which was in fair, but not fast, order.
Chief .Link and Silver Rule were companions in a gallop over five furlongs. Chief Link was going the better of the pair at the finish in 1.0. Joyispear, Gasnapper, Miss Sheff and An bridge were gi ven light exercise work on the inside oval.
Silvermine went a couple of rounds on the sand at half-pace. Tenncre. starting from the mile post and timed from the six furlongs, ran home in 1.201, Whirl picking him up at three furlongs and finishing in front.
Bright Glow, after cantering once round, was allowed another circuit at a good half-pace. Orbv’s Choice trotted and cantered.
The' Shillinglee two-year-olcl sprinted three furlongs comfortably in 41J-sec. Isa was allotted pace work on the sand track.
Ban bridge and Green Linnet did light exercise. Tenncre was jumped over three hurdles, ridden by W. Grindlay.
Goblin Market was given light exercise.
The two-year-olds Hampden and Barbara Kent galloped lialf-a-mile in 521 sec. The latter .shows promise. Hampden, as usual, worked lazily. Paitonu and Compulsory jumped off together at the five-furlong post and went smartly over three furlongs, where compulsory was pulled off. Paitonu. who is still big in condition, took 1.7 to finish up his five furlongs. The two-vear-olds Ripple Song and Attentive sprinted three furlongs, iinishing together in 301-s,sec. A number of others were out doing routine work.
